Helping the homeless in Phoenix
Chances are you’ve seen Cloud Covered Streets throughout Phoenix. It’s a nonprofit helping people facing homelessness feel fresh and renewed. Through Operation Santa, FOX 10’s Desiree Fluellen tells us how it’s following through on its mission with holiday cheer.
Changing the Narrative in Phoenix
Two years after this initial idea, his vision became a reality. A once empty cargo trailer transformed into Thornton’s mobile shower shed on Aug. 30, 2020, marking the beginning of the nonprofit Cloud Covered Streets.
Cloud Covered Streets gifts Shoes
Cloud Covered Streets provides items, services and more to people experiencing homelessness. Three days a week, the nonprofit drives through the Valley. Parking and providing showers, haircuts, laundry service and more to hundreds living on the streets.

A $25 a month donation provides one individual experiencing homelessness with:
a hot shower
a haircut
a new t-shirt
new shorts
new underwear
new socks
and a hygiene bag full of essential supplies
